Google Reviews / Google Business Profile handoff

Open the Google Business Profile, update basics, and reply to Google reviews. Public trust is built in the small replies, so the person answering should keep context and control.

Who it is for

Someone who needs to open the Google Business Profile, check hours and info, and reply to Google reviews.

A Google Business Profile (GBP) is the listing that shows on Google Search and Maps. Google reviews live on that profile. Handoff means you can open the listing, keep the basics accurate, and reply to a review without the builder sitting there. Do not write login passwords on this page.

Steps

  1. Open business.google.com and sign in with the Google account that manages the listing. You can also search the business name on Google, open the profile, and choose Manage this profile if you already have access.
  2. Check you are on the right location. If more than one listing shows, pick the store or restaurant you need.
  3. To update hours, phone, address, or photos, open the edit or profile tools and change what is wrong. Save when you finish.
  4. To read reviews, open Read reviews (or Reviews) on the profile.
  5. Next to a review, click Reply. Write a short, polite answer. Do not argue. For a hard problem, invite them to call or email in private. Click Reply again to post.
  6. If you need to fix a reply later, open your posted reply and choose Edit, then Update.

Labels move a little when Google redesigns the manager. Stay in the same places: the right listing, Edit info, Read reviews, and Reply.
