My focus is the work that keeps systems usable after the visible part is finished: reliable handoffs, maintainable web builds for partners without in-house engineering support, and clear technical communication.
serve it clinic
Website Team Lead · ServeAI at Serve IT (Laurie McRobbie Serve IT Nonprofit Clinic).
Serve IT is Luddy’s university-run technology clinic: students apply technical skills
so local nonprofits can carry out their missions on systems that remain workable after delivery.
I lead nonprofit web projects for Bloomington partners without in-house developers ...
WCAG 2.1 accessible builds, Python/PostgreSQL ETL, and clinic handoffs designed to keep
working after the student team leaves.
Founded ServeAI (PIT-UN): accessible generative AI tools and plain-language

about
who’s shipping this
Public name: 赵郎溪 / zhao-langxi ... same slug on GitHub, LinkedIn, and Instagram. This site is the ship folder (jadexzhao), not a second identity. I am reading for a B.S. in Informatics (Business and Society) at the Luddy School, Indiana University, with graduation planned for May 2027. First-generation · Luddy HIEP Scholar · Hudson & Holland Platinum Scholar · Direct Admit. Growing up in a family restaurant shaped the bar I use here: a system has to hold under real use, not only under demonstration. Full narrative on

With gratitude for Miriam “Mimi” Attenoukon ... Hudson & Holland Scholars Programme (HHSP) advisor and STEM coordinator, HHart since 2009, CEWIT 2020 Outstanding Staff Mentor/Advocate, and 2025 Terri Nation Award recipient.

Terri Nation Award
What mattered to me was how she worked, not the award list. She showed up in the room ... HHart set-ups, showcases, student org advising ... and her advising connected Hudson & Holland Scholars to research, internships, and paths that are not obvious from a syllabus alone. As a first-gen scholar, that practical pathfinding meant more than polish. I am grateful for her mentorship.

how I build
ELI5 · learn it · ship it slowly
- ELI5 it. If a recruiter, teammate, or nonprofit partner can’t follow it, rewrite until they can.
- Learn it. Don’t fake fluency ... dig until the system makes sense.
- Ship it slowly. Small commits that hold up beat flashy demos that don’t.
