Apple Notes handoff
Open a note, write a new one, find it later, and share or pin when you need to. The point is a handoff that lets someone act without the builder standing beside them.
Who it is for
Someone who needs to open Notes, write something down, find it later, and share or pin a note when that helps.
Handoff means you can do those jobs on your own. Do not write account passwords on this page.
Steps
- Open the Notes app on the iPhone (or iPad).
- Tap a folder, then tap a note in the list to open it.
- To make a new note, tap the compose button (pencil in a square), type, then tap Done. The first line is usually the title.
- To find a note, pull down on the list for Search, or use the search field, then type a word from the note.
- To pin a note so it stays at the top, swipe right on it in the list and tap Pin (or open the note, tap More, then Pin).
- To share, open the note, tap the share icon, then choose how to send a copy or invite someone.
Icons move a little between iOS versions. Stay in the same places: the note list, compose, Search, Pin, and Share.
